Epic car chases, superb stunts and absurd adaptations… yes, it’s Bond season once again. After seemingly endless delays due to the covid pandemic, the much-awaited new film No Time To Die finally previewed to rave reviews this week – and it has plenty to offer any respectable automobile aficionado. We give you the lowdown on five favourites to look out for.
1. Aston Martin DB5
As Daniel Craig reprises the role for the 5th and final time, it seems only fitting to that we say farewell in the company of what is arguably film’s most iconic car ever – the Aston Martin DB5. The car, which made its Bond debut in the 1964 film Goldfinger, starring Sean Connery, sees a much anticipated return to the screen for the 25th instalment of the franchise.

If you were hoping to catch a glimpse of the original, however, you’ll be disappointed – it is now such a valuable car, according to the Times, that the production team used replica DB5s for the film, featuring DB5 bodywork draped over a bespoke chassis with a full roll cage and harnesses for safety.
2. Aston Martin V8 Vantage
The much-loved DB5 is not the only Aston Martin classic to return to the screen – it is also briefly joined by Timothy Dalton’s V8, which famously appeared in The Living Daylights boasting tire spikes and outriggers.
3. New Land Rover Defender
Although car critics’ opinions may be as divided as marmite on the new Land Rover Defender, one thing is for sure – it looks as if it was made for a James Bond Movie. No surprise then that the iconic British brand makes yet another appearance in the franchise – albeit a somewhat airborne one on this occasion.

4. Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J90

For those four-wheel-drive fans who do not approve of the brand new Land Rover Defender, there is another more old-school offroader to look out for – the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado J90. Although by no means a match for the average Bond car, this understated vehicle does nonetheless prove victorious when faced with a high-end Range Rover.
5. Jaguar XF
The Bond franchise has long been a showcase for the very best in British automobile manufacturing. No surprise then to see another Great British brand making an appearance alongside Aston Martin and Land Rover – say hello to the Jaguar XF. Unfortunately for the driver, this particular vehicle finds itself facing off with the infamous DB5 – and also in the firing line of its miniguns…
