Checking Condition of Your Tyres23 May 2017
It is important to check the condition of your tyres on a regular basis. Look out for any cracks and excessive wear and tear. If you come across any of these issues get them checked out as your tyres may need to be replaced. You will also need to check the thread of the tyre as this helps your tyres grip the surface of the road. When the thread gets worn down
it can be dangerous for you and your car making your car likely to slip, especially in wet or icy conditions. In most countries you are legally obliged to meet minimum thread depth. Here in Ireland it is 1.6mm. Most new car tyres will have a thread indicator on the tyre so once this is worn down it generally means that tyres will need to be replaced. Try making it a weekly habit to check your car tyres for any cracks, wear and tear etc when checking your oil, water and tyre pressure to ensure that your tyres are safe and in perfect condition.
